Meaning of Darood Sharif

It is a means of attaining the prophet's intercession on the Day of Judgment, as he said: "The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who send the most blessings upon me." (Tirmidhi)

It is a means of erasing sins and increasing good deeds, as the prophet said: "Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will erase ten sins from him and raise him ten degrees in status." (Muslim)

It is a means of fulfilling one's religious duty and expressing one's love for the prophet, as he said: "None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind." (Bukhari)
