[S3E5] Child's Play [REPACK]

Truly, I didn't see Ecbert's treachery coming, though perhaps I should have. He is corrupt, after all. A scheming, ambitious politician. It was a two-for-one play against both the vikings and the powerful nobles who didn't back their king with enough fervor. And he can at least pretend that he wasn't involved should Ragnar come calling.

The episode introduces Stannis's family with actresses Tara Fitzgerald and Kerry Ingram as queen Selyse Baratheon and princess Shireen Baratheon, respectively. Selyse had briefly appeared in the first season 2 episode during the burning of the gods at the Dragonstone beach, played by an uncredited extra. Jacob Anderson also debuts playing Grey Worm, the commander of the Unsullied.

Feeling charitable, Hannah decides to play Doctor Phil when she finds that Caroline and Adam are at each others throats again. She points out that she had a very lonely childhood and would have done anything to have a sibling, and begs them to say "I love you" to each other. When Caroline instead says that she thinks Adam probably wants to have sex with her, Hannah uncomfortably backs off and lets the brother-sister duo work out their own issues.

When Genre first kicks in, Caleb starts seeing the whole world in black and white, and a distinctive soundtrack starts playing. For this scene, Nolan asked "Westworld" composer Ramin Djawadi to pay "homage to the great scores of film noir."

Once that genre is over, and the group head down into a train station, Iggy Pop's 1977 song "Nightclubbing" (co-written by David Bowie) starts playing. That song was famously used in the 1996 movie "Trainspotting."

In a brief break from the Genre musical cues, we hear an instrumental cover of "Space Oddity" playing when Caleb, Dolores, and the others emerge from the train station to see people starting to riot.

Out of options, Poppy decides to play dirty and produces a live podcast to provoke the police into action. She states that the police refuse to search a specific location, one that may lead them straight to Trini. Poppy lies and says there have been a tip-off that Emily Mills is there too. The police are soon dispatched to this mansion.

Tanner is better known these days for being a playwright and creating "AVE 43," a soapy webseries shot in Highland Park. I haven't watched it, so I can't tell you if it's good, but it sounds cool. The show's website describes it like this:

Programmer Traveler 009 is wearing almost exactly the same suit as Perrow was in the limo, before the car accident in Ep 4. Could she be 001, or be working for 001? All she did was set up the situation that allowed the Baby AI to jump into Trevor. She came to the 21st with the Programmer Traveler 0029, who turned out to be the Faction traitor that sabotaged the Director during the future war at the end of season 1 (S2, Ep8, Traveler 0027 & S1 Ep11&12). Echo Programmer Traveler 009 could easily be working as a double agent, as so many have before. The actress, Tasya Teles, has played that kind of role before.

Season three stars Rob Lowe as Owen Strand, Gina Torres as Tommy Vega, Ronen Rubinstein as T.K. Strand, Sierra McClain as Grace Ryder, and Jim Parrack as Judd Ryder. Natacha Karam plays Marjan Marwani, Brian Michael Smith is Paul Strickland, Rafael Silva is Carlos Reyes, Julian Works is Mateo Chavez, and Brianna Baker plays Nancy Gillian. 041b061a72
